Joe
founded Planetary Partners to give form to one of his greatest
passions; bringing groups of kindred souls together and aligning with the power, magnificence and beauty
of Nature for personal & planetary transformation.
He's always been inspired by the magic that's
available in groups with a common vision, and has worked as a group facilitator for over 20 years. As a teenager, amidst a
family counseling session over the suicide of a sibling, he realized we are the masters of our
own destiny. As a result, he's led a life of continuing adventure,
exploring his own expansion and
awakening.
Joe grew up one of 8 kids on a
farm in Maine. He started practicing yoga as a teenager, when
he first read about Edgar Cayce and 'idly' daydreamed of getting lost
one day in the Bermuda Triangle (twenty years later, on his first trip
to Bimini, with his boat broken down 30 miles out to sea in the middle of
a windy night, his idle daydreaming came true!)
In
his search for more, Joe began a daily practice of TM, (Transcendental
Meditation, the kind the Beatles made famous) while in high school, a
practice that he continued for decades. When he was 21, he moved to Northern Maine,
bought 13 acres of land, cut down some trees and built a log cabin.
After a year in the woods, (it was a
looong, cold winter), Nature sent him back out into the world and he
landed in the North Shore of Boston. Over the next decade he had a private
healing practice using shiatsu, reflexology and flower essences, and worked as a healer
using the laying on of hands in
local churches and hospitals.
During this time Joe also ran his own
construction company, Cooperative Designs, based on the
collaborative approach to working with the elements made famous by the
Findhorn Community in Scotland.
Realizing that the physical illnesses he was treating
in his healing work originated from our thoughts and beliefs, he studied
to become a psychotherapist at Interface Foundation and The Option Institute,
where he also worked with autistic children. In his 30's,
he had a private psychotherapy practice in Massachusetts and taught workshops on
meditation, visualization and creative play at various healing centers in
the New England area, including Interface in Boston and the
Wainwright House in Connecticut.
To further his love of adventure, Joe worked part time as a wilderness guide for several
different Outward Bound
schools, leading groups of students, teenagers and adults sailing, camping, canoeing and hiking into
the wilds of Florida
and New England. Combining
his wilderness skills from Outward Bound with
his holistic facilitation skills, he began leading daylong spiritual
adventure retreats for individuals, couples and men's and women's groups.
Outward Bound hired him as a lead
facilitator for their Professional Development programs, and as he combined it with his use of
psychosynthesis, (the basis for the body/mind/spirit holistic movement), it resulted in clients getting tremendous breakthroughs. In
his desire to expand upon this work, in 1990 he
started Growing Edge Adventures, his own
Consulting
Company that
today takes executives on Leadership Retreats around the world.
In 1995, while visiting friends in
Hawaii, Joe had a life-changing encounter with a pod of wild dolphins. The
ecstatic joy and oneness he experienced with them touched him to his core, and he
stepped
out of the water a changed man. Since that time, he's been
bringing groups and families to swim with wild dolphins and whales in different
parts of the world.
Joe, aka Joebaby, takes great joy
in sharing his love of life with kindred spirits. He's a masterful life
coach, guide
and facilitator, and his passion for life continues to lead
him in ever unfolding adventures, of which he's delighted to share with
you.
Joe has a growing collection of
